HOUSE IN HEYDON
Our clients at the house in Heydon approached us in 2022 to renovate their existing house. The existing house had a large prominent roof which significantly projected over the eaves. This made the interior of the house very dark.
The renovation work cut back these projections whilst introducing a large area of glazing to the entrance hall and a new window onto the staircase.
The existing dark coloured concrete roof tiles were replaced with elegant natural roof tiles whilst the detailing over the existing dormers was simplified to create an attractive yet contemporary elevation to the front of the house.
We re-worked the existing kitchen and dining space in order to bring in more natural light and maximise the long views of the Cambridgeshire Countryside from the rear of the house.
The clients were keen to future proof the house and improve its carbon footprint, so a large solar array was added to the front of the house which now generates most of the house’s electrical needs.
The material pallet chosen was refined yet contemporary and worked with the softness of the existing Cambridge buff bricks.
